چکیده

Abstract Objective To provide guidelines for surgery and reduce the incidence of fracture, this study analyzed relationship between femoral fracture related factors in direct anterior approach (DAA) total hip arthroplasty (THA) lateral decubitus position. Method A retrospective series 273 consecutive patients who underwent THA with DAA position was analyzed. Each performed by same surgeon a conventional operation bed stem. The correlations sex, age, body mass index (BMI), height, osteoporosis, superior iliac spine-greater trochanter distance (ASIS-GTD), joint disease were univariate analysis logistic regression analysis. Results Among all procedures, 35 hips had fractures, including 30 greater 4 proximal splits, 1 perforation. 12.82%. Univariate showed no significant difference BMI, or age. However, osteoporosis caused an increase while decreased as height ASIS-GTD increased. neck lower cases osteonecrosis head than other diseases. Logistic correlation ASIS-GTD, fractures. Patients high possibility (OR = 2.414); increasing 0.938). Conclusion Lateral can be successfully using stem, effectively saving medical resources. Osteoporosis shorter independent risk fracture.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging Assessment of Hip Abductor after Total Hip Arthroplasty Using a Direct Lateral Approach

Background: Surgical techniques and rehabilitations after total hip arthroplasty (THA) play a significant role in theimprovement of pain and limping. This study aimed to assess hip abductor muscle’s diameter and its strength after 6months postoperative THA performed by Hardinge approach. Methods: After obtaining the patients’ demographic characteristics, the preoperative values...

Lateral femoral cutaneous nerve impairment after direct anterior approach for total hip arthroplasty.

The anterior supine approach for total hip arthroplasty (THA) offers the advantage of operating through a true intravascular and intranervous plane, but it places the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve at risk. The purpose of this study was to identify the incidence of and impairment relating to injury of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve. We performed a retrospective chart review of 81 hips und...

Comparison of Specific Femoral Short Stems and Conventional-Length Stems in Primary Cementless Total Hip Arthroplasty.

There are several reported disadvantages with conventional-length femoral stems in cementless total hip arthroplasty (THA). Therefore, various efforts have been made to develop a specific femoral short stem to improve physiologic bone remodeling at the femoral aspect of a cementless THA. However, there are potential disadvantages with specific femoral short stems, such as malalignment, inadvert...

[A modified direct lateral approach for total hip arthroplasty].

Literature based review of lateral hip approach (MacFarland, Osborne) modifications offered by Bauer, Harding, Mills, Moscal and Mann is presented. Surgical technique for the Moscal and Mann approach is described. The approach allows easy access to the proximal femur for reaming, cementing, prosthesis orientation and leg-length discrepancy correction. It offers visualization of the joint superi...

Direct anterior total hip arthroplasty.

The direct anterior approach to hip arthroplasty has become a popular technique. This technique, which was described almost 70 years ago, allows the surgeon to approach the hip through an internervous and intermuscular plane. Preliminary studies show that direct anterior hip arthroplasty may allow patients to recover faster with a lower dislocation rate. It is helpful to understand the history,...
